从事细胞生物学与动物生态学的教学与研究工作。目前主要以轮虫为研究对象,开展浮游动物种群生态学和进化生态学研究。先后承担国家自然科学基金项目、安徽省自然科学基金项目、高校省级优秀青年重点项目、高等学校优秀青年人才基金项目、安徽省高校自然科学基金项目和安徽师范大学博士启动基金项目等,参与国家自然科学基金2项,在国内外刊物上发表研究论文十余篇。
